Palmieri (lower body) has yet to join his teammates for practice and won't be available for Wednesday's game versus Detroit, Andrew Gross of Newsday reports.

Palmieri's been skating on his own, but he'll need to rejoin practice before returning to game action, and it remains to be seen when that will happen. Unless several skaters are activated off the NHL's COVID-19 protocols list prior to puck drop, the Islanders will likely have to recall a few players from their minor-league affiliate to fill in against the Red Wings.
