Hamonic (knee) remained back in Long Island as the team kicked off the first half of a nine-game road trip, Arthur Staple of Newsday reports.

Coach Doug Weight told reporters that he did expected Hamonic to meet them out on the road at some point with March 2 in Dallas a potential landing date. The blueliner has missed 20 straight games with this knee ailment, but has resumed skating and would appear to be on track to return soon. The first step will likely be joining his teammates for a practice session, even in a non-contact jersey, in order to start getting back up to speed.
