Hamonic (knee) doesn't practice Wednesday. This is not a surprise as it would be an upset if Hamonic suits up for Wednesday's playoff opener versus the Capitals. His loss would be a big one as Hamonic is the Islanders top defender and would be the one expected to keep Alexander Ovechkin in check, a job that will now fall to Johnny Boychuk and Nick Leddy.
