Greening told reporters that Monday was the second day he had skated since taking a big hit from the Sabres' Jason Akeson in Saturday's preseason contest against Buffalo, Bruce Garrioch of the Ottawa Sun reports.

It isn't clear whether or not Greening suffered a concussion as a result of the blow, but the 29-year-old winger told reporters that he hopes to play in Tuesday's preseason matchup with Winnipeg, but still has to "pass some other tests" before he's cleared to play. Greening's chances of securing an Opening Night roster spot with the Senators are probably slim, and he will likely once again split time between the AHL and NHL this season.
