Greene (shoulder) was placed on unconditional waivers by the Kings on Thursday for the purpose of buying out the final two years of his contract, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Greene missed all but three games recovering from shoulder surgery with no clear sign of whether he will be back to full health for 2016-17. Consequently, it comes as little surprise that Los Angeles wanted to get rid of his $2.5 million cap hit for the next two years. The 33-year-old has been hampered by injuries in the last few seasons, which could limit his ability to find a team willing to give him a shot.
