Markstrom stopped 33 of 34 shots in Friday's 1-0 overtime loss to the Sabres.
EDGE Analysis
Markstrom was a big reason why the score remained at 0-0 through regulation, making a number of key saves to stay in lockstep with his opposite number Dustin Tokarski. In overtime, it was Markstrom's misplay in the slot that left Tage Thompson to bury the puck into a vacant net for the decisive goal. Despite the late gaffe, this was Markstrom's fourth game in his last five to limit opponents to one or fewer goals, but that's little consolation given the result. He's now at 29-11-7 with a 2.07 GAA and a .928 save percentage in 48 appearances. It's unclear if Markstrom or Daniel Vladar will guard the cage Saturday in Vancouver.
