Gomez (wrist) will be available to play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Rangers, Tom Gulitti of the Bergen Record reports. Gomez downplayed the severity of the injury and was able to take part in a scrimmage Friday, suggesting that his health won't factor into the Devils' decision on whether or not to include him on their Opening Night roster. He's likely battling Jacob Josefson and Steve Bernier for two of the three remaining roster spots that are up for grabs.
