Goldobin had a goal and an assist in San Jose's split-squad preseason opener against Vancouver on Tuesday. Goldobin showed off his hands and offensive prowess, looking a little like Tomas Hertl 2.0. It's early in the preseason and the Sharks praised him cautiously, but Goldobin looked great in what was essentially a meaningless game. Don't count on Goldobin being in the Sharks opening night roster, but if does somehow make the team, he's certainly worth keeping an eye on for a waiver pickup. He could make things interesting.
