Goaltender Steve Mason needed to make only 17 saves en route to the Flyers' 5-2 rout of the hapless Buffalo Sabres in Philadelphia Sunday night. Mason also picked up an assist in the game. Mason improved his GAA to 2.52. His save percentage is now .916. The Flyers snapped a four-game winless streak with the victory and now have a two-point lead on the Columbus Blue Jackets for third place in the Metropolitan Division. The Flyers also are two points behind the second-place New York Rangers.
