Goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere turned aside 25 of 28 shots as he and the Colorado Avalanche put out the Flames 6-3 in Calgary Thursday night. It was Giguere's first start of the 2013 NHL season. Semyon Varlamov had started all six of the Avs' previous games, including a 3-0 loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night.
