Goaltender Eddie Lack, backup to Roberto Luongo with the Vancouver Canucks, had a successful NHL debut Sunday night. Lack turned aside 32 of 36 shots in regulation and overtime before he and the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Flames 5-4 in OT in Calgary. Among the reasons the Canucks traded Cory Schneider to New Jersey in the off-season was their belief in this 25-year-old netminding prospect. His AHL numbers have generally been great, with only 2012-13 (7-4-1 with a 3.00 GAA and .899 save percentage) lagging behind a bit. The Swede has the large frame NHL teams hope for in a goalie. After one game, his NHL GAA is .889.
