Gleason's played in his fourth game of the preseason Sunday against the Capitals. He saw 18:12 worth of ice time, including 2:35 on the penalty kill. This is a good example of how Gleason is likely to be used once the regular season gets underway. He is primarily a stay-at-home, shutdown type of defenseman whose primary responsbility is keeping pucks out of his own net. He will likely play on the Canes' third defensive pairing, either with John-Michael Liles or Jay Harrison.
