Gibson put forth a 35-save performance Monday, giving up three goals in a 4-3 shootout victory over the visiting Red Wings. After a pair of ghastly losses to Tampa Bay and Washington in which he coughed up nine goals, the rookie netminder has strung together three straight wins. Gibson appears to be gaining momentum after a slow start in relief of starter Freddy Andersen (upper body), but his tenure of temporary starter in Orange County could be coming to an end soon with Andersen having resumed skating and nearing a return. Nonetheless, Gibson has recorded a 2.74 GAA, .912 save percentage and 6-4-0 record in 10 starts this season, and remains a fine fantasy option between the pipes as long as he's getting the nod.
