Bernier stopped 27 of 29 shots in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Kraken.
EDGE Analysis
New Jersey controlled play for most of the game, but Seattle worked its way back in, cutting the Devils' lead to 2-1 in the second period, then almost pulling back within one again later in the frame before having a would-be second goal waved off for offsides. The Devils turtled late and gave the Kraken a golden opportunity with an extended 5-on-3 in the third, which resulted in the second goal against Bernier, but New Jersey then sealed it with an empty-netter. The offseason acquisition is off to a 2-0-0 start while filling in as the starter for Mackenzie Blackwood (heel), but the schedule will get much tougher for Bernier and the Devils once they start facing foes from within the stacked Metropolitan Division.
