Garrison is settling in nicely in Tampa Bay and his coach Jon Cooper has been impressed with his play so far, reports the Tampa Tribune. "He's a heavy player down low, great defender and a great (penalty kill) guy," said Cooper. "He's savvy, he knows what to do with the puck and doesn't spend a lot of time in his D zone." Cooper was quick to add that he's trying to instil a bit more of a "defense-first mentality" to the entire time and acknowledged that Garrison "has been exceptional at that." We'd honestly been hoping for him to slot onto the team's power play with a bit more consistency to exploit that massive shot. But the team is using Anton Stralman on the second unit and it looks like Garrison is going to be used as more of a shutdown and PK guy. His fantasy value clearly suffers in this role.
