Galchenyuk was moved from second-line center to first-line right wing in the third period of Friday night's game and scored the game-tying goal in a 3-2 shootout win over the Devils, Hockey Inside Out reports.
EDGE Analysis
Head coach Michel Therrien's decision to replace Devante Smith-Pelly on the top line worked out as Max Pacioretty sprung Galchenyuk, who split two defenders and beat Cory Schneider with a back-hander. Galchenyuk and the second line has played well the last five games, so we'll have to see if Therrien is willing to upset the chemistry of that unit. We'll learn soon as the Canadiens and Devils are back at it Saturday night in Montreal.
