Galchenyuk scored two goals -- the latter on a power play -- in Thursday's 3-2 win over Buffalo. He's now scored two goals in three consecutive games and five of the last eight.
EDGE Analysis
The 22-year-old did the heavy lifting after Montreal fell behind 1-0 nine minutes into the second period -- just nine seconds later, Galchenyuk unleashed a one-timer past Robin Lehner. He got open on a power play 10 minutes later, delivering a 2-1 lead on another one-timer. This has been a lost season for the Habs, but they can point to Galchenyuk's emergence as a positive moving forward -- he continues to build on his career high in goals (now 25) and has now tied last year's career-best 46 points. Picking up 11 goals and an assist over the last eight games has certainly helped in that cause.
