Franzen (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Thursday, MLive.com's Brendan Savage reports. Franzen suffered the upper-body injury in Tuesday's win over the Oilers and was a late scratch for Wednesday's tilt with the Flames. The Red Wings haven't provided much word on the nature or severity of his injury, but the IR placement will result in him missing at least the team's next two games. Teemu Pulkkinen was recalled from AHL Grand Rapids in a corresponding move.
