Fleischmann was a healthy scratch for Monday's win over the Penguins. Fleischmann had been held without a point in his last four games, and with the Panthers set to enjoy a four-day break for the holidays, coach Gerard Gallant chose to gave the veteran forward a head start on resting up. The 30-year-old was holding down a top-six role for the Panthers earlier in December, but the opportunity to reclaim that perch may no longer exist for Fleischmann with his production starting to tapering off the last couple of weeks.
