Hanley scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Flames.
EDGE Analysis
Hanley's story is one of perseverance, as he's often had to settle for two-way contracts and part-time roles to stick in the NHL. Now in his seventh season, he hadn't scored in the big leagues. He changed that at 4:26 of the first period Tuesday, with a shot that deflected off a Flame and through Jacob Markstrom's pads. To make it an even sweeter moment, this was Hanley's 100th NHL contest. The 30-year-old won't add much on offense -- he's at two points, six shots on net and a minus-3 rating in 19 appearances this season. He'll stick around as a veteran option to give Andrej Sekera rest on the third pairing from time to time.
