Ference was credited with his first assist of the season in Saturday's loss to the Canucks. Ference also delivered a vicious check near the head to the Canucks' Zack Kassian on the evening, earning him two minutes in the sin bin. He was able to collect the assist shortly after coming out of the penalty box, but which should be one of the few points Ference gathers on the season. The Oilers inked Ference to a lavish four-year deal last summer strictly for his work on the defense end, and that's where he'll continue to supply most of his negligible fantasy value.
