After undergoing hip surgery in January, the 37-year-old defenseman will report to Oilers training camp, where he is expected to fail his physical and be placed on long-term injured reserve, effectively ending his career. Ference won the Stanley Cup in 2011 with Boston, and tallied 169 points (28 goals, 141 assists) in 656 career NHL games.
