Johnson has a goal and four points through three games for Team Canada at the Olympics.
EDGE Analysis
The 19-year-old wasn't even on the main roster for Canada a week ago, having been named as an alternate to the squad, but Johnson was elevated just before the tournament started and is now tied for the team lead in scoring to begin the preliminary round, even though he's the third-youngest player on the roster after Mason McTavish and Owen Power. The fifth overall pick in the 2021 Draft, Johnson has six goals and 30 points through 23 games for the University of Michigan this season, and he figures to be pushing for a spot in the Blue Jackets' roster as soon as the 2022-23 campaign.
