The netminder could be in line to start Opening Night at home versus Utah on Oct. 10 as Ilya Sorokin (back) has not seen any preseason action. Varlamov was 14-8-4 with a 2.60 GAA and a .918 save percentage in 28 regular-season contests in 2023-24.
