Allen will get the second half of New Jersey's back-to-back after Jacob Markstrom opened the season with a 30-save performance in Friday's 4-1 win over Buffalo as part of the 2024 NHL Global Series in Prague, Czechia. The 34-year-old Allen posted a 12-18-4 record with a 3.44 GAA and an .895 save percentage across 34 regular-season contests between the Canadiens and Devils in 2023-24. He will serve as Markstrom's backup during the 2024-25 campaign.
