Fabbri's move from a top-six role to the third line should not be considered a demotion, according to Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock, Jeremy Rutherford of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
EDGE Analysis
Hitchcock said Fabbri has been playing well and that the decision to move him to Patrik Berglund's line was due to the second-year forward pressing as he remained goal-less through the season's first nine games. There's some merit to what the coach is saying. Comparing last season to this season, Fabbri has the same number of points and he's directed 24 shots toward the net in 2016-17 compared to 25 last season. Additionally, he's not the only player having trouble finding the back the net. The Blues have scored one goal in five of their last six games. Fabbri will be looking for his first goal Tuesday night when the Blues play on the road against the New York Rangers.
