Byfield was dealing with a foot injury as well as an illness heading into training camp, but it sounds like the Kings will begin easing him into the swing of things by having him skate with the team's third group Friday. The second overall pick from last year's draft should get every opportunity to make LA's Opening Night roster during camp. Byfield spent most of the 2020-21 campaign with AHL Ontario, notching eight goals and 20 points in 32 contests, but he also drew into six games with the big club, picking up one helper over that span.
