Even though he didn't manage to score, Johan Franzen put forth a respectable effort in the Detroit Red Wings' 5-2 loss to the Calgary Flames on Wednesday. The big, talented and injury-prone forward only has two goals and zero assists in 11 games since Feb. 7. Still, he's firing a lot of SOG lately; he had six in each of the last two games and in four of his last six contests (27 overall in that span). When you consider his skill, that trend has to go the other way soon enough. Before this slump, he was his usual borderline point-per-game self.
