Erik Johnson was injured in the third period Monday and did not return. Johnson was hit by the Coyotes Martin Hanzal and appeared to injure his shoulder or chest. There was no word after the game as to the extent of the injury so the Avs will likely update the press on Tuesday. Johnson should be the leader of the Avs rearguard corps but has struggled this season with only one assist in 11 games this season although he is a plus-one. Consider him day-to-day for now.
