Erik Johnson has received a two-game suspension for slashing the Islanders' Frans Nielsen on Saturday. Nielsen has a broken bone in his hand as a result of Johnson's two-handed slash. The timing of this suspension in particularly inopportune for Johnson because he was already set to go two and a half weeks without playing because of the Olympic break. Now he won't be eligible to participate in an NHL game until March 2, so he might be pretty rusty going into the home stretch of the season.
