Guentzel entered the NHL's COVID-19 protocols Sunday, Mike DeFabo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
EDGE Analysis
Guentzel will have to submit a pair of negative COVID-19 tests before being permitted to return to Pittsburgh's training camp. At this point there's little reason to believe he won't be ready for the Penguins' Opening Night game versus Tampa Bay on Oct. 12, but this is nonetheless a situation worth monitoring. Guentzel racked up 23 goals and 57 points while averaging 20:16 of ice time through 56 contests last campaign.
