Ekblad won the 2015 Calder Memorial Trophy for being the NHL's best first-year player on Wednesday night. At just 18 years old, Ekblad put together a fantastic rookie campaign, playing in 81 games and finishing fourth on the Panthers in points, scoring 12 goals and recording 27 assists. Ekblad clearly has a bright future, despite the fact that his team's future remains cloudy.
