Doan announced his retirement via the Arizona Republic on Wednesday.
EDGE Analysis
Doan will hang up his skates following a 21-year career that started with the then Winnipeg Jets -- following the organization to the desert. In all, the winger racked up an impressive 402 goals, 570 assists and 1353 PIM in 1540 games. Heading into the offseason, Arizona had informed the veteran he wasn't going to be retained. Regardless of whether he was unable to secure a landing spot with another club or just couldn't bring himself to put on another sweater, Doan will go down as the ultimate Coyote -- and should be a lock for the hall of fame.
