Despite the need for a top defenseman, the Edmonton Oilers could be in the market to trade a blueliner. The Oilers have quantity on the blueline with eight capable of playing in the NHL. Cam Barker has been a healthy scratch for the last two games after going minus-eight in his previous five. Theo Peckham could also be available but the Oilers biggest need is a top defenseman and they will not get one unless they deal a top forward like Jordan Eberle, Taylor Hall or Ryan Nugent-Hopkins.
