Derek Stepan notched his second career hat trick to power the Rangers to a 5-1 win over the Hurricanes on Saturday night. After missing training camp, Stepan started the year slowly, but he's rounding into form now and again emerging as a top-tier center for Team USA. Stepan's goals were his first of the season, but he now has 10 points on the year, with 14 shots over the last two games. Carl Hagelin, in his third game since coming back from shoulder surgery, scored twice. His speed and puck-possession ability has been a boon to New York. Chris Kreider and Mats Zuccarello, both on Stepan's line, picked up three assists apiece.
