Derek Stepan (flu) only logged 7:04 minutes in Monday's 4-3 overtime win against Phoenix. Rangers coach Alain Vigneault made the decision to let Stepan attempt to play through the illness and later regretted that choice. "They didn't look good," Vigneault said, also referring to Martin St. Louis, who similarly attempted to play through the flu. "They both said they wanted to play but, at the end of the day, I've got to take that out of their hands because they had no energy and, obviously, it showed." Stepan and the Rangers are off Tuesday before they face Philadelphia on Wednesday.
