Dennis Wideman ranks second in the NHL with an average of 27:46 minutes per game. Wideman has a goal and three points in five games this season. "He's been definitely one of our best players," Flames head coach Bob Hartley said. "His experience, also his presence in the locker room, here's a guy that knows the game very well. He's taking care of his partners. He's taking care of the kids on the team. He's an offensive defensemen, but I think what we're forgetting to talk about is the way he's really committed to the game and three zones." He won't maintain his current minutes per game pace, but he will continue to log plenty of ice time.
