David Clarkson was dropped to Toronto's third line at Monday's practice. He skated with Carter Ashton and Trevor Smith in the session, while Nikolai Kulemin moved up to the second line with Nazem Kadri and Mason Raymond. The change isn't set in stone for Tuesday's game versus San Jose because the Leafs were missing some bodies, but coach Randy Carlyle appears to be open to splitting up Clarkson and Kadri. He doesn't feel that the pairing has worked. Clarkson has gone four straight games without a point and he has recorded a meager total of five in 17 games this year.
