Darling will be out for three weeks with what is suspected to be a hand injury, Tracey Myers of CSN Chicago reports.
EDGE Analysis
Given that timeline, Darling almost assuredly will end up on injured reserve. Chicago's hockey club is a virtual lock to make the playoffs, though the loss of Darling is significant because it could cause unnecessary wear and tear on starter Corey Crawford ahead of the playoff grind. Of course, the Blackhawks could give some spot-starts to Jeff Glass, who was called up from AHL Rockford on Friday. Expect there to be fewer than 10 games remaining in the regular season by the time Darling is healthy enough to return.
