Darling was the first goalie off the ice at the Blackhawks' morning skate and is thus in line to start Saturday's game against the Avalanche, ESPN Chicago reports.
The Blackhawks have already secured their spot in the postseason, so it seems coach Joel Quenneville will rest usual starting goalie Corey Crawford for what amounts to a largely inconsequential regular-season finale. As a result, Darling will get the nod, and probably makes for one of the stronger options in daily leagues due to the high number of No. 1 goalies across the league that will be sitting. Darling has been one of the league's top backups this season, upholding a 9-3-0 record, 1.86 GAA, and .939 save percentage over his 13 appearances with the Blackhawks this season.
