Darling stopped all 25 shots he faced Wednesday in his first career shutout against the Rangers. The Rangers had been the hottest team in the NHL heading into Wednesday's game, but Darling was able to shut them down all night, and improved his record to 7-3-0 on the season. He's not going to unseat Corey Crawford as Chicago's starter, but he just signed a two-year extension with the team, so it looks like Darling will be the Hawks backup for the foreseeable future.
