Daniel Cleary has reportedly had discussions with the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday. Cleary is also allegedly no longer expected to attend the Philadelphia Flyers' training camp due to a "complication." The idea seemed to be that Cleary would attend Philadelphia's camp on a professional tryout offer and then, once the Flyers had put themselves in a better cap situation at the end of the month, Cleary would sign a three-year/$8.25 million deal. For his part, Flyers GM Paul Holmgren both denied that Cleary has been guaranteed a contract and that Cleary won't attend their training camp, which opens Thursday.
