Daniel Alfredsson sniped the game-winning goal in overtime as the Ottawa Senators came back to defeat the New Jersey Devils on Monday 3-2.
Ottawa was down 2-0 entering the third period, but received a goal 1:21 in by Jason Spezza (his 14th), then a shorthanded tally by Erik Condra (his seventh) at 13:21. Alfredsson's goal was his 12th of the year and came with just a minute left in the extra frame. At 39, the veteran is certainly nearing the end of his career, but his 28 points show that as long as he's in there, he can still be very productive. The winger is three points shy of his career-worst campaign last season in which he played only 54 games. Erik Karlsson had two assists to give him a whopping 37 points on the year.
