THOMAS WILL TRY NHL RETURN: After a one-year absence from the game, former Boston goaltender Tim Thomas will test the free agent market this summer. The 39-year old refused to report to the New York Islanders last season after they acquired his rights by trading with Boston. He now joins Evgeni Nabokov, Ilya Bryzgalov, and Ray Emery as UFA goalies that will be available for teams to sign once the free agency period commences on July 5. read more
