Corey Perry was surprised to hear his name called when the NHL announced the winner of the Hart Trophy. The award is given to the most valuable player to his team and Perry was a deserving winner with 50 goals and 98 points as he carried the Ducks to the playoffs with an outstanding late season surge. Perry hugged his parents when he was announced as the winner. "They're what got me here," Perry said. "You didn't know what to expect coming in [and] obviously you hear your name. It surprised me. I've got to give a lot of credit to my teammates. I've got a lot of family and friends here. It's pretty special." Perry beat out Daniel Sedin and Martin St. Louis in winning the Hart.
