Copp signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Jets on Thursday. Since Copp only recently completed his junior season with the University of Michigan, he'll have to report to the Jets right away rather than an AHL affiliate, per the Winnipeg Sun's Paul Friesen. With the Jets fighting for a playoff spot, it's unlikely that Copp will be thrown into the mix right away, but he'll be available at coach Paul Maurice's disposal if injuries should thin the forward ranks. The 20-year-old Copp, who was drafted in the fourth road of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, compiled 40 goals and 81 points over his 107-game college career.
