Rasmussen won't play in Wednesday's preseason game versus Columbus or Thursday's exhibition against the Penguins, but his day-to-day tag suggests he probably isn't in danger of missing Detroit's regular-season opener against Tampa Bay on Oct. 14. Rasmussen should continue to skate in a middle-six role while seeing regular power-play usage in 2021-22, but he only produced three goals and 12 points through 40 games in that role last season, so expectations for the 22-year-old forward should be tempered.
