Connor Carrick looks like he will start the 2013-14 with the Washington Capitals. The 19-year-old was a fifth round pick in 2012 but has been so impressive that he will start the season as the Capitals seventh defenseman. He had 44 points and 79 penalty minutes with Plymouth of the OHL but he is eligible to play in the AHL this season. If he is sent down, it is still quite an accomplishment for a teenage fifth round pick.
