Connor Carrick doesn't have to clear waivers to be sent down to the minors and he could play in the OHL, but he has received plenty of praise during Washington's training camp. "He's had an outstanding camp. He's been really really good. Very smart, very intelligent player," GM George McPhee said earlier this week. "Poised, zips the puck around, finds people, plays hard. He's a really good player." His contract situation will probably prevent him from making the team, but it is possible that he could stick around.
