Coach Bruce Boudreau said that Thompson is being viewed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury ahead of Thursday's playoff opener against the Jets. Thompson ended up playing in Saturday's regular-season finale against the Coyotes, so it appears that was where the injury probably originated. The center finished the season with 18 points in 80 games while working primarily in a fourth-line role, so his possible absence for the start of the playoffs shouldn't have much of an affect on those in pools.
